Document preparation and client intake for a law firm
A law firm project covering enquiry intake, first drafts, case retrieval and deadline reminders.

Preparation work was taking up legal staff time
This law firm handled repeated client questions alongside document preparation and case retrieval. Drafting took time, and finding relevant cases was inefficient.
Our team delivered support for initial enquiries, document drafts, case retrieval and scheduling.
How the project supported daily work
The enquiry assistant received initial questions, collected matter information and identified the type of case. Drafting support used the matter type and key facts to prepare first drafts of contracts, pleadings and other legal documents.
The retrieval workflow located relevant cases and assembled analysis material. Scheduling support reminded lawyers of hearing dates and preparation deadlines.
The intake information, drafts, reference material and reminders supported different tasks within the firm’s work. Together, they reduced repetitive preparation around the delivery of legal services.
Measured results from this project
- Document drafting time fell by 60%.
- Case-retrieval efficiency improved fivefold.
- The number of clients the lawyers could serve doubled.
Defining a project for your practice
Begin with a document type the practice handles regularly. Identify the facts it needs, the template used, the source material and the person responsible for review. Time the complete task, including organising information, checking the draft and making corrections.
For retrieval work, establish which reference collections can be used and how the system will present original sources for a lawyer to check. Discuss how those results will reach the relevant matter record.
If incomplete client information causes most of the delay, improving intake may be a more useful first project than adding drafting features. The scope should follow the work currently taking up the firm’s time.
